The St. Vincent de Paul Society is a group of Catholic lay-persons from our parish, who are interested in helping persons in need. We work with the District Council of St. Vincent de Paul, helping with any projects where our help is needed.
Our mission and duties are to take care of the needy, homeless, hungry and distressed of our parish area. We will work along with the Pastoral Care program to take care of the homebound, ill, hospitalized and where death occurs. We work with any other organizations within our parish where needed, as well. It is our responsibility to be present when calls come in for help.

The second thrift store is located at 520 Army Post Road in Des Moines. Hours are 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Contact (515) 279-2933.

We always need more helping hands, especially with the Thanksgiving and Christmas projects, and visits to the needy.
Our regular meetings are the second Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Pastoral Center at Christ the King.
“Extend mercy towards others, so that there can be no one in need whom you meet without helping. For what hope is there for us if God should withdraw His mercy from us?” – St. Vincent de Paul
