Christ the King Free Clinic is a member of Free Clinics of Iowa
( www.freeclinicsofiowa.org). It offers free medical care to the community! Our free clinic was created using a network of dedicated, talented medical professionals, who volunteer their time to serve those who are unable to attain and maintain quality, affordable health care. Our hope is to provide essential minimal health assistance to children and families in need.
The free medical clinic is open every Monday evening from 7 to 9 pm, enter from the south parking lot.
Registration begins at 6:30p.m. Please plan to be at the clinic for 6:30 p.m. registration for a first come-first served offering. The clinic may close early after the final registered patient is seen. Being there early will help to ensure you are seen as some nights we fill up and have to turn patients away

The Altar and Rosary Society welcomes all women of our Parish! The Altar and Rosary Society provides support, service, and fellowship to its members and to the Parish Community. The goals are to provide programs that foster community and spirit within the Parish and to raise money to supply the equipment necessary for the Sanctuary, improvements, and maintenance of the Church.
Members determine their own level of participation from the very active to the less active honorary members.
Meetings are normally held on the first Monday of each month. We say the Rosary at 6:00 pm; followed by the monthly meeting in the Parish Hall at 6:30 p.m. Meetings normally include a program designed to entertain and/or educate a social time.
The Rosary is recited the first Sunday of each month at 8:30 am before the 9:00 am Mass. Contact the president, Kathy Beiderman for more information.

As Catholics, we believe in the power of prayer, especially when many people pray for the same prayer request. We believe prayer can positively change the world in which we live and help those in need. The Christ the King Prayer Chain is here to meet your prayer needs, as well as those of your family and friends. If you are in need of prayer or know of someone who is, contact one of these team leaders.
We welcome all parishioners who would like to join our ministry. You may participate by receiving phone calls or e-mails with prayer requests. If you are interested or need more information please call Darlene Hiatt at 244-9205
A lector is a person who proclaims the first or second reading at Mass. Any man, woman or young person in full communion with the Catholic Church and is serious about their faith may become a lector. Lectors are required to participate in a diocesan or parish formation process.
From the second century onward, the ordained minister of the Eucharist has been assisted by others who helped to prepare the altar, sanctuary, various liturgical books, and sacred vessels for the celebration of the Mass. Typically, this role is filled by the youth of the parish. Special training is given to those who wish to become altar servers.
As need presents itself, the pastor can appoint anyone in full communion with the Catholic Church to assist with the distribution of the Holy Eucharist to the faithful. Upon completion of formation candidates are referred to as Extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion.
We each attend Mass and accept that everything runs smoothly with little-to-no effort. That is because the effort is done behind the scenes by volunteers. They are responsible for ensuring that everything is available and right where it belongs whenever needed by the priest and those in attendance.
These are the smiling people who greet you before each Saturday and Sunday Mass with flyers in hand and hand you your bulletin after Mass. For many newcomers to Christ the King, greeters are their first impression of our parish. If you enjoy meeting new people, being a greeter may be just the right ministry for you.
The Parish Pastoral Council is a representative group of parishioners, who work with the Pastor to develop parish goals and objectives. They also advise the Pastor as specific issues may arise in the life of the parish.

For further information, feel free to contact the Pastoral Council Chairperson, Julie White
New Council members are discerned by the existing Council members, from a group of Parishioners who have expressed interest in becoming Council members.
