Also known as the "sacrament of the dying," given to a baptized person, who begins to be in danger of death because of illness or old age. The anointing is administered by a priest, through prayer and the anointing of the body with the oil of the sick. The proper results of the sacrament include a special grace of healing and comfort to the infirmities of serious illness or old age, and the forgiveness of the person’s sins.
Please notify the parish office at 285-2888, when someone becomes a patient in a facility. Due to privacy issues, we are not notified by the hospitals. As a parish, we wish to be spiritually available for that patient in a time of illness and need.
